Dear Kilgore Intermediate School Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I am honored and excited to serve as the principal of Kilgore Intermediate School. I look forward to partnering with our students, families, and staff as we begin another year of learning, growth, and success.

This year marks my 32nd year in education, with 18 of those years proudly serving the students and families of Kilgore ISD. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education from Sam Houston State University and later completed my Master's degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles that have prepared me for this opportunity. I have taught 6th Grade Science, 6th Grade English Language Arts and Reading, 2nd Grade, and 3rd Grade. I have also served as the RTI Coordinator at Kilgore Middle School and as Assistant Principal at both Kilgore Middle School and Kilgore High School. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to supporting students, empowering teachers, and building meaningful partnerships with families.

My family and I have proudly called Kilgore home since 2009. Both of my children, Tyler and Morgan, are graduates of Kilgore ISD, making this district especially meaningful to me. As both an educator and a parent, I understand the importance of a supportive school community and the lasting impact it can have on students and families.

I believe every child deserves an outstanding education in a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment. I have a servant's heart and genuinely enjoy helping others. My goal is to ensure every student at Kilgore Intermediate School receives an exceptional education while developing confidence, character, and a lifelong love of learning.

At Kilgore Intermediate School, we are guided by our core values of Kindness, Integrity, and Success. These values shape our school culture and inspire our students to grow academically, demonstrate strong character, and strive to be their very best each day.

Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. We value the partnership between home and school because we know that when families and educators work together, students thrive. I look forward to an incredible year filled with learning, growth, and memorable experiences.

Thank you for being part of the Kilgore Intermediate School family. Together, we will make the 2026–2027 school year one of success, growth, and achievement for every student.

With Bulldog Pride,

Sheri Payne
